Wilmington SSDI Application Attorney

Applying for Social Security Disability benefits

Very few initial claims for Social Security Disability are approved. The Social Security Administration knows that many of those rejected applicants will simply give up in frustration and despair.

The math is not on your side, but Greg Jones Law is. We can help you prepare your initial application for maximum chances of getting approved. Even if your claim is rejected (most initial applicants are denied even with an attorney), our legal advocacy will improve your chances at the next stage of the reconsideration and appeals process.

Our Wilmington disability lawyers handle SSDI and SSI claims in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Contact us today for a free initial consultation.

Initial applications for SSD and SSI

If you have been in the work force but cannot return to full-time work because of qualifying disability, you may qualify for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). If you have never worked or have a sporadic work history, you may still qualify under Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

The application process can be complex and confusing. There are different ways to qualify for disability benefits, but generally you must meet the Social Security Administration's definition of disability under a listed physical or mental impairment. Approval also requires medical records and other documentation that must be complete and accurate. Our experienced disability lawyers know what the Social Security Administration looks for and what is needed to give you the best chance of success.

A denied claim does not mean that you are not disabled

We will help you prepare and submit your initial application for SSDI or SSI. It may take several months to process your claim. If your claim is approved, your benefits will begin soon after. If your claim is denied, we will examine your files and any specific reasons cited by the SSA. We can prepare your amended claim for formal Reconsideration and represent you in hearings and appeals if your claim is denied at that second stage.

Serving Wilmington, Charlotte and surrounding North Carolina, we handle SSDI and SSI cases on a contingency fee basis. There are no upfront fees, and we do not collect attorney fees or expenses unless you are approved for benefits
